The mission of HealthLink International/GCI (HLI) is to foster and support sustainable local, national and global health initiatives by linking academic medical centers, industry and communities for cost efficient/effective healthcare outcomes through research, training and education, which includes developing long term collaborations and partnerships to enhance the relevance and problem solving capabilities and capacities of community based healthcare delivery. This is carried out through local initiatives such as training programs established to develop healthcare professionals: BIO MED, Community Health Education Technician (CHET), Technicians in Innovative Pharmacy Services (TIPS), Management Information Systems Technicians (MIST); through the; Youth Health Education Initiatives (YHEI), YHEI After school Program , Healthcare/Science Career Exploration and College Exposure Summer Program; through educational exchange programs and research.
